Round 6 (by 25th June)

Due to the record entry of 32 players, the competition will be a Swiss system this year. Like last season, each round will have a deadline, but I will also be giving each match a suggested date based on when teams are playing. If you can't play on the suggested date, it will be up to you to arrange an alternative or forfeit the match. Any issues with finding dates, I can give a bit of leaway, but I do expect dates to be sorted out at the start of the allowed period rather than finding there isn't one where both players are free at the end of it! Also, people who are regularly away for long periods will get some leaway on the deadline dates and assumed results for these games will be used to draw the next round if necessary.

If you are having problems arranging a game, or if you have to call off an arranged game (eg due to illness), please let me (and your opponent) know as soon as possible. If I don't have a result by the deadline, and nobody has told me why, the game will be defaulted and both players will score 0. If one player has been trying to make arrangements and the other has not responded, the first player will be awarded the game. Any player missing 2 rounds in a row will be removed from the event.

For ECF grading purposes, games should be played over the board and not online. The time limit is slightly less than for Cleveland league matches (1h30 for each player for all moves).
