Thornaby Chess Club is open to all ages and skill levels for fun or competitive chess. We meet every Tuesday between 7pm and 11pm at the Veterans Hub and Bar in the Don War Memorial Museum on Cranworth Street. Chess really is a game for anyone, our current membership ranges from age 8-90! We're a friendly club, so come along and give it a try! Our main catchment area for players covers Thornaby, Ingleby Barwick, Stockton, Eaglescliffe and Yarm. Our full address is:
Members of our club also support the weekly Saturday morning free "Chess for All" sessions at Thornaby Central Library from 10am-12pm.
If you would like to get in touch, come to one of our weekly sessions or email us at mail@ThornabyChessClub.co.uk.
Many of our young library players go on to play at the club and we have arguably the best junior section in the area. One of our juniors is the Teesside junior champion for under 16's and we are the only club in the Cleveland league with a team dedicated to junior players.
Our club mission statement and constitution can be found here.
